After some soul searching (amazing what you can think about if you turn that car radio off while driving), I have come to the conclusion that It must not be the running.

Its getting out of my comfort zone and doing something that I would have said was completely impossible.

Its stretching the definitions with which I have defined myself.

Its peeling of the labels I have mentally stuck on myself for the past 39 years.

Its proving that I am capable of so much more than I originally pictured for myself.

Stay tuned. Its time to dust off some more goals...

Totally neat! Now is the time to reach, stretch and go for something completely out of the norm, well within reason. ;-D I can hardly wait to see what's next!

I'm glad to hear it's not the running, because my experience today wasn't very rewarding. Granted I only ended up running 3-5% of the time and walked the majority. I still don't understand what there is to love about running, but at least I can say I tried it.
Keep up the good work, I hope you continue to see the many benefits. I'll stick to gardening, house cleaning, and kid chasing for my exercise. Keep tackling those goals!

One more comment. You'll hit walls (running sucks in my opinion) but once you actually accomplish the goal it is very exilerating. And it helps you stick to doing it again because you push on knowing how great it will feel once accomplished.

Ok, we really are soul sisters... I have always wondered if deep down in my soul there is a runner and/or a gardener. It is time to find out....

I am now determined to get moving. Not for a marathon, but to get moving... keep me inspired!

Our very non-athletic family added two very athletic runners into the family in the form of son-in-laws. One daughter married a coach, another a Special Forces man. DD#1 ran her first marathon about 3 years ago. She now competes in triathlons, as well. God allowed her to come back from a severe break in her leg (army accident) and back surgery to exault Him.

I'm eager to see how your race goes today.
